Helene (41) is the proud mother of Travis (9) and Tyler (13). Like most working parents she is active in her sons' sporting activities and volunteers at their school. Travis and Tyler like to swim and play floor hockey at the YMCA. Travis is an awesome skateboarder and Tyler is the City Champion for Mat Wrestling in his weight division. Helene has lived in Ward 3 for over 18 years and raised her family in the community.
Helene was born and raised in Ottawa and moved to Calgary in the 1980's. Like so many Calgarians she moved here for economic opportunities. "When I moved from Ottawa I loved Calgary and its surroundings so much that I stayed, chose to have a family and raise my boys here. The mountains, city parks and pathways are beautiful. Calgary is now our home."
Because of the progress Helene has made for Ward 3 at City Council she has been encouraged to stand for re-election. She will be running as a candidate for a second term as Alderman in Ward 3 on October 15, 2007.
